Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
